Create a Digital Escape in Minutes!

Creating a Digital Escape Room in Minutes

With it being testing season, I'm always looking for fun ways to review important standards that my students will also enjoy. During my brief planning period, I started brainstorming and decided I would use the ready-made quizzes on Quizizz to create a digital escape room. My students LOVE escape rooms, but they despise anything related to testing. This is why I started creating them in the first place and blogged about this here.  I created my most recent digital escape in under 20 minutes, and so can you!

For those of you who aren't familiar with Quizizz, it's a FREE website that works from any device!  You can access hundreds of their ready-made quizzes for any subject area, or you can create your own. Here's a look at my Quizizz profile that shows a few of the quizzes I have used- some that I have created, and some I found in their collection.

When I create digital escape rooms, I use a Google Form to house all of my directions and links to each activity. To enter the codes, click the 3 dots at the bottom, right side of the screen and choose "Response Validation." This allows you to input the code and a custom error message, as well.

To show you the whole process, check out the video below.  In the video, I walk you through it step-by-step.

Have you used digital escape rooms with your students?  If so, what websites and tools do you incorporate?  I'd love to hear all about it in the comments below, and please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. I'm happy to help!!!
